Eye Security, a European-based scale-up offering top-notch cyber security and rapid insurance to businesses across Europe, has raised €17 million in a new financing round led by prominent global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners.
Founded by former intelligence officers Job Kuijpers, Vincent van de Ven and Piet Kerkhofs only 2,5 years ago, Eye Security already has multiple offices across Europe and over 70 employees. This is the second investment round, following a successful investment by TIIN Capital earlier this year. This brings the total funding in 2022 to € 21,5 million.
Job Kuijpers, CEO Eye Security: “Companies, local governments, hospitals, they all clearly need better cyber security, faster insurance quoting and better service. At Eye Security we deliver state-of-the-art cybersecurity combined with cyber insurance without hassle. The growth that we have been able to achieve since inception is testament to the quality and spot-on product market fit of our solution. We have proven that we are the first company that is able to protect and insure organizations against the increasing cyber threat fast and easy.” This investment allows Eye Security to execute its expansion plan and further accelerate its mission to mitigate the cyber risk of European companies.
Alex Ferrara, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners: “The demand for cyber insurance has skyrocketed in recent years, yet there has been a segment of companies that don’t have the right resources to protect themselves at a time when ransomware attacks are at an all-time high, and therefore, become uninsurable. The Eye Security team bridges this gap by bringing a depth of expertise that these businesses wouldn’t be able to implement on their own. We look forward to partnering with Eye Security in their mission to protect small and medium-sized businesses against cyber risk.”
