How it started

In 2020, three Dutch national security employees set out on a journey to develop Eye. The founders had served AIVD and MIVD for numerous years, after which they made the decision to make high quality cybersecurity available for the most vulnerable companies: SMEs.

A few months following the start of their journey, two more former AIVD employees joined them and became co-owners of Eye. Now, our board consists of five former AIVD & MIVD employees, who have years of experience in fighting cyber crime and protecting national security. Eye is the first European cybersecurity company to offer an all-in-one-package for SMEs. Our mission is to cyber protect every SME within Europe.

Vision

We often talk about how cyber crime is one of the biggest threats for SME’s. At Eye, we understand that when an SME-company falls victim to a ransomware-attack, it not only causes financial damage, but it also impacts people’s jobs and the company they’ve helped to build all these years. It puts everything on hold for days, sometimes weeks. Because we are entrepreneurs ourselves, we appreciate that our clients trust us as their security partner.

  • 62%
of all ransomware victims were SME businesses
  • €220.000
is the average amount of damage done by ransomware in SME
  • 700%
is the total increase of ransomware in 2021

Job Kuijpers, CEO and founder at Eye Security, is an energetic visionary who combines a no-nonsense approach with his ambition to improve the resilience of European SMEs. At the Dutch secret service, AIVD, he worked under high pressure on complex operations to protect free society. Working together towards a goal that the team believes in gives him confidence and energy. He relies on his team, because he believes they are the ones that have the knowledge. He grew up in an entrepreneurial family, and therefore knows how to combine his pragmatic approach to cyber security with an SME mindset. Only when the ransomware figures for SMEs start to fall drastically will he have achieved his goal. Until then, he will do everything in his power to innovatively protect European SMEs against cybercrime. Close

The common theme in the career of Vincent van de Ven, COO and founder of Eye Security, is technology. His broad interests and drive to understand things make him curious and solution-oriented, always doing what is necessary to reach the intended purpose. He gained experience with digitalisation at an agency that helped big brands with their online strategy. It was there that he realised the impact of cybersecurity and went on to work for the Dutch government to help build one of the world's best cyber programmes. With Eye Security, he aims to help entrepreneurs to arm themselves against 'criminals who make their money the lazy way'. Van de Ven comes into his own under time pressure. Maintaining his calm in a panic situation and applying structure in order to reach a solution are his characteristic features. His dream? To preserve Eye's special corporate culture while a the same time ensuring that Europe is a safe place to live and work. Close
